Sweden Considers Broader Online Gaming

The Swedish government has proposed that the country’s regulated gaming companies be allowed to offer online gambling to better compete with international operators that serve the market.

Sweden is considering the creation of a domestic online gaming industry, which regulated firms in the country like Svenska Spel and ATG are currently barred from offering.

Sweden’s online gaming market is growing, but is presently dominated by overseas firms like Bet365, Unibet and Betsson, according to Gambling Insider. According to media consultant Mediavision, up to 230,000 gamblers patronize these casinos each month.
