The Swedish consumer affairs agency Konsumentverket has warned that country’s licensed gaming operators has found “numerous shortcomings” among 13 operators chosen at random.

It has warned them of their responsibilities to provide “balanced and fair conditions to consumers.” The deficiencies found related to withdrawal restrictions, ID and verification, liability disclaimers, inconsistent terms of play and promotions that were unclear.

Four operators referred player disputes to foreign courts, said the agency. Six operators made it harder for consumers to withdraw money from their accounts.

The agency will send the results of its findings to the country’s online gaming trade association: Swedish Gambling Inspectorate Spelinspektionen and Branschföreningen för Onlinespel (BOS). It will also double back to see if the gaming companies have taken its findings to heart.
