Swedish Court Rejects Penalty Appeal

The administrative court of Sweden has rejected the appeal of FrankFred and Klirr operator XC Gaming of a penalty levied against it for bonus failings.

The infraction took place last year, when the government discovered that the company was given bonuses and gifts to players signing up.

The current operator of XC Gaming appealed the sanction because the infraction occurred under the previous owner. Since Mill Adventure took over it has taken steps to prevent such infractions in the future.

According to Sweden’s gaming regulator, “The Mill Adventure wants to guarantee that the company now fully complies with the Gaming Act and announces that special measures have been taken to ensure that the provisions on duty of care and gaming liability are complied with.”

Nevertheless the administrative court called the actions of the previous owner “very serious” and ruled the penalty to be “proportionate.”
