Symphony Offers Largest Casino At Sea

When Royal Caribbean's Symphony of the Seas debuts in April 2018, it will be the world's largest cruise ship, featuring Casino Royale, the largest casino at sea, which will anchor a contemporary nightclub district. The ship "will introduce the most cutting-edge, customizable and digitally enhanced experiences in the Royal Caribbean fleet," officials said.

Royal Caribbean’s newest ship and the largest cruise ship in the world when it debuts in April 2018, Symphony of the Seas, will offer an onboard nightclub district, anchored by Casino Royale, the largest casino at sea. Royal Caribbean International President and Chief Executive Officer Michael Bayley said, “We’re excited to introduce Symphony of the Seas, our boldest composition yet, offering the best of Royal Caribbean with some new surprises for our guests to create a vacation that adventurers of all ages can enjoy together. We set out to create a new level of vacation adventure and deliver the ultimate escape for families of all shapes and sizes. Symphony will introduce the most cutting-edge, customizable and digitally enhanced experiences in the Royal Caribbean fleet.”

Covering thousands of square feet with an impressive array of slots and table games, Casino Royale will be located in Entertainment Place, a contemporary nightclub district, one of the Symphony’s seven unique neighborhoods. The district also will feature Studio B with a full-scale ice rink and the world’s largest and ultimate laser tag. The Attic will offer the vibe of a downtown comedy club and transforms into a lounge for late-night drinks and dancing. Jazz on 4 will provide live jazz and blues music.

Other Symphony features will include aerial, ice and aqua entertainment, including the iconic AquaTheater, which uses the ocean backdrop and starry nights for a breathtaking show of aquatic acrobatics and stunning high-diving aerial performances. The Ultimate Abyss will catapult those who dare from the tallest slide at sea into the heart of the Boardwalk neighborhood, offering interactive experiences and lively venues like Playmakers Sports Bar & Arcade with 30 big-screen TVs.

Symphony will debut new food and beverage concepts beyond its already diverse lineup of more than 20 specialty and complimentary restaurants throughout the ship’s seven neighborhoods. Hooked Seafood, Royal Caribbean’s first New England-style seafood restaurant, will feature fresh seafood and a robust raw bar. Mexican, sushi, American, Italian, hibachi and other dining options will beckon passengers.

“Hairspray” – the brand’s first Broadway musical at sea – will return on Symphony along with a new original Royal Caribbean show, “Flight,” a historical satire on the evolution of air travel.

Other neighborhoods will include Central Park, a serene retreat with more than 12,000 lush tropical plants, retail boutiques and specialty restaurants; the Pool and Sports Zone with the Ultimate Abyss and other waterslides, surf simulators, mini-golf, a nine-deck-high zip line and the beach pool; the Royal Promenade main street with robot bartenders at the Bionic Bar; the teen-friendly Youth Zone; and Vitality at Sea Spa and Fitness Center, the largest spa and fitness center on the high seas.

Symphony also will introduce the two-level Ultimate Family Suite accommodating eight people. Amenities include a slide from the kids bedroom to the living room below, a floor-to-ceiling LEGO wall, an air-hockey table, a separate 3D movie theater-style TV room complete with a popcorn machine and a library of video games, a wraparound balcony with a bumper pool table, a climbing experience and a full-size whirlpool with unmatched ocean views.

The new check-in process will eliminate waiting in lines and leverage a combination of facial recognition, bar codes and beacons. The brand’s new mobile app will seamlessly upload guests’ security “selfie” to create their onboard account from the comfort of their home. Symphony also will feature Royal Caribbean’s pioneering and award-winning guest technology like VOOM – the fastest internet at sea, state-of-the-art wayfinding and virtual balconies.

The 25th ship in Royal Caribbean’s fleet, Symphony of the Seas will set sail in April 2018 for a summer season in the Mediterranean. Beginning November 24, 2018, it will base year-round out of Miami, offering 7-night Eastern and Western Caribbean voyages from its new terminal at PortMiami.
