Macau will debut a new light rail transit line during the first half of 2019. The 5.8-mile system connecting Taipa with Cotai will include 11 stops including Macau International Airport and the Taipa Ferry Terminal.

The new railway is expected to deliver more mass-market players to the city’s newest casino hub in the Cotai district. The project is overseen by Hong Kong-based MTR Corp Ltd., which manages Hong Kong’s underground railway system, reported CalvinAyre.com.

A Transport Bureau spokesperson quoted by TDM Radio Chinese said the Taipa Light Rail Transport line will run from 6 a.m. to 1 a.m. The line will consist of 55 trains, each with two to five carriages which can carry around 100 passengers each. No fares have been determined yet.
