Five VIP rooms by 2019
Macau junket operator Tak Chun Group has opened a new VIP room at MGM Cotai with 13 tables, its first in the property. The new room was to have opened in the first quarter of this year, but was delayed due to “renovation” efforts, a representative told the Macau News Agency.
The VIP room will mark its grand opening on November 19.
In February, Tak Chun opened a VIP room at Sands China’s Plaza Macao, inside the Four Seasons Hotel. In May, it opened a VIP room at the Macau Roosevelt Hotel. With the MGM Cotai room opening, the company will operates three VIP rooms at MGM properties: two at MGM China in the Macau Peninsula and one in the Cotai property, for a total of 17 in the city.
According to GGRAsia, in August MGM China CEO Grant Bowie said the operator expects to see a total of five junket operators establish VIP rooms at MGM Cotai by early 2019.
