Construction of the Temporary by American Place is under way in Waukegan, Illinois. The 70,000 square-foot white membrane structure on 40 acres next to the Fountain Square shopping center will open this fall with 1,000 slots, 50 table games, a sportsbook and food and beverage service.
The permanent American Place casino resort is expected to open in 2025, according to Full House Senior Vice President and Chief Development Officer Alex Stolyar.
He said, “It will depend on how many rain delays we have and getting everything we need. We have supply chain issues like everyone else. We’re getting all the approvals and support we need.”
Stolyar said the temporary casino will provide 400 to 500 jobs. About 50 positions are listed on the company’s website, including dealers, slot technicians, security personnel and restaurant and lounge workers. The permanent casino resort is expected to create 1,800 jobs.
