Texas Lottery Sales Set New Record

For fiscal year 2017, the Texas Lottery reached a new sales record of $5.077 billion. As a result, Texas public schools received $1.313 billion and Texas veterans received $16.2 million. The state received more than $1 billion in revenue for the 14th consecutive year. Scratch ticket sales reached $3.94 billion, also a record.

The Texas Lottery set a new sales record of .077 billion for the fiscal year 2017. It’s the 14th consecutive year the Texas Lottery has generated more than billion in revenue for the state. As a result, a total contribution of .313 billion was made to Texas public schools and .2 million was given to Texas veterans.

Texas Lottery Executive Director Gary Grief said, “This is the seventh consecutive year that the Texas Lottery has reached record sales. Due to the amazing work of our staff, retailers and our trusted vendor partners, the Texas Lottery was able to offset the lack of record jackpots with record-setting scratch ticket sales, which led to outstanding sales and revenue results.”

Scratch ticket sales for fiscal year 2017 were $3.94 billion, the highest in Texas Lottery history.
