TGP Europe has been fined £316,250 ($394,079) after the U.K. Gambling Commission uncovered social responsibility and anti-money laundering (AML) failures, Yogonet reported.
TGP Europe operates 19 websites. Besides the fine, the operator will also receive an official warning and have conditions added to its license.
Examples of social responsibility failures include allowing customers to continue playing after they have triggered several safer gambling alerts and relying on automated warnings to customers when they trigger such alerts, instead of personal intervention.
The company’s AML failures included not having an adequate risk assessment of possible money laundering or terrorist financing, said Yogonet. It also failed to consider AML risks in its business-to-business relationships.
As a condition of its license, TGP will be required in future to add due diligence checks. It cooperated with the investigation and took corrective measures after they were pointed out.
