The European Casino Association (ECA), the prominent trade organization that represents 900-plus venues across 28 markets, has appointed Tiina Siltanen as vice chair.
Siltanen’s appointment was announced December 15 during the ECA’s annual board meeting, which took place in Finland.
The meeting also celebrated the one-year anniversary of Veikkaus Casino Tampere—Siltanen, who also serves as managing director of Veikkaus Casinos Finland, happens to oversee.
“I am very proud of the trust the ECA board has placed in me and look forward to my new role in the ECA,” Siltanen said in a statement. “It is not a new start for me, as I have been on the ECA Board for two years.
“Still, there are topics of special importance, particularly concerning the ECA’s international events, human resource issues focused upon diversity and inclusion, and the overall reputation of the licensed casino sector to which I would like to devote attention in my new role.”
2023 will usher in a new era for the ECA, as current Chairman Per Jaldung will step down after the ICE London trade show in early February. Following his departure, Siltanen will share leadership duties with fellow Vice Chair Pascal Camia, who currently serves as COO of Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer.
“I am pleased that the Board has unanimously approved the appointment of Tiina Siltanen as the Association’s Vice Chair,” Jaldung said in a statement. “I will be stepping down as Chairman of the ECA at the next General Assembly and this appointment ensures strong leadership and robust support for my successor.”
