Tribe to Open Small Oregon Casino

Oregon’s newest casino, the Three Rivers Casino Coos Bay, opened last week in Coos Bay. The $15 million casino is owned and operated by the Confederated Tribes of Coos, Lower Umpqua and Siuslaw Indians.

The Confederated Tribes of Coos, Lower Umpqua and Siuslaw Indians of Oregon last week opened the million Three Rivers Casino Coos Bay, a Class II casino in Coos Bay, Oregon. The facility employs about 110 people. It is about three miles from the Mill Casino, operated by the Coquille Tribe.

According to former tribal Chairman Bob Garcia, interviewed by the World Link, “We’re trying to aim for that Cheers neighborhood bar, because most of the folks here are going to Coos Bay local and are not going to be coming from Portland very often.”

This would be the second casino for the tribal group. Its first is the Three Rivers Casino and Hotel in Florence.
