Tribe Wants to Fire Wind River Managers

The tribal council of the Northern Arapaho in Wyoming have ordered their business council to fire the top managers of the Wind River Hotel and Casino. So far their wishes aren’t being enforced.

The Wind River Indian Reservation’s general council voted September 9 to remove the two managers of the Wind River Hotel and Casino in Wyoming and instructed the Northern Arapaho Business Council to carry out that wish.

So far, however, CEO Jim Conrad and Assistant Manager Andrea Clifford are still employed. The council couldn’t drum up the votes to carry out the action. This has prompted a member of the tribe to ask the tribal court to remove the managers.

The Business Council has the sole authority to hire or terminate general managers or CEOs.
