Trio Merge to Create Crown Properties to Oversee Marquee Venues

The sports and entertainment industry in southern Nevada saw a significant collaboration as three relatively new companies joined forces. Madison Square Garden (MSG) Entertainment Corp., Sphere Entertainment Co. and Oak View Group have come together to establish Crown Properties Collection (CPC). This new entity aims to manage marquee partnerships with sports and entertainment brands and venues worldwide.

CPC, led by Oak View Group, aims to revolutionize the partnership space in the sports and entertainment industries. With a focus on representing the most valuable brand assets, CPC seeks to create unprecedented global representation for world-renowned sports and entertainment brands and venues.

MSG and Sphere will be the first clients of CPC. MSG, which oversees several venues and sports teams in New York, boasts an impressive portfolio that includes Madison Square Garden, Radio City Music Hall, Beacon Theatre and more. On the other hand, Sphere Entertainment is the mastermind behind the soon-to-open Sphere in Las Vegas, a revolutionary venue that promises to take the live entertainment experience to new heights.

Oak View Group (OVG), the leading full-service live entertainment and hospitality company, is the driving force behind CPC. OVG has ambitious plans to build a $10 billion resort project at the prime location of Las Vegas Boulevard and Blue Diamond Road at the southern end of the Las Vegas strip. This project includes an NBA-ready arena that will further solidify Las Vegas as a premier destination for sports and entertainment.

CPC’s goal is to create a new model for global partnerships in the sports and entertainment industry. By representing the most important brand assets in the industry, CPC seeks to change the game for partnerships as we know it. With the leadership of Jay Voelker, the newly appointed President of Crown Properties, CPC is poised to make a significant impact in the market.

Voelker, who was the senior vice president of business development for the PGA Tour where he oversaw the golf tour’s global sponsorship business, said the collaboration will be unique.

“Crown Properties Collection’s purpose is to provide unprecedented global representation for world-renowned sports and entertainment brands and venues, and there is no greater portfolio to begin with than the MSG family of companies’ world-class assets,” Voelker said in a release. “I am honored to join OVG, the leading full service live entertainment and hospitality company to represent CPC and create a new model for global partnerships in our industry.”

Under the partnership agreement, CPC will oversee the global partnership and sponsorship representation of all brands and properties within the MSG family of companies.

David Hopkinson, president and chief operating officer of MSG Sports, said he  believes that the iconic brands associated with MSG Entertainment will set the stage for game-changing opportunities for venues, teams, and brands.

Tim Leiweke, chairman and CEO of OVG, envisions CPC as an extension of OVG’s global reach.
