Truckee Gaming Acquires Rail City Casino from Affinity Interactive

Affinity Interactive has announced its intention to sell the Rail City Casino in Sparks, Nevada for an undisclosed amount to Truckee Gaming, subject to regulatory approval and closing conditions.

The deal is expected to close sometime before the end of the year.

Rail City is a longstanding local venue in the Sparks market, featuring just under 25,000 square feet of gaming space with 415 machines, a keno lounge and dining options.

Affinity, which also operates casinos in Iowa and Missouri, has investments in the sports betting, horse racing and iGaming industries through its Daily Racing Forum, DRF Sports and DRF Bets platforms. The company indicated it will use the proceeds of the sale to focus more on those opportunities.

Affinity CEO Andrei Scrivens said in a release, “As part of the Affinity Interactive family, we expanded our offerings and capabilities, allowing us to continuously enhance the Rail City experience for our valued customers and gaming enthusiasts.”

Reno-based Truckee Gaming owns a number of regional casinos throughout Nevada, including Gold Ranch Casinos in Verdi and Dayton, Pioneer Crossing Casinos in Yerington, Dayton and Fernley, and the Club Fortune Casino in Henderson.

After decades of little to no activity, the Sparks market has been increasingly active in recent years—in addition to the recent sale of Rail City, Century Casinos acquired the operations and half of the assets of the Nugget Casino Resort for $195 million last year, and Legends Bay Casino debuted in August, representing the first ground-up property to open in Sparks since the 1990s.
