Trump’s Name Comes Off Atlantic City’s Taj Mahal

Workers have begun removing all signage referring to President Trump from Atlantic City’s Taj Mahal casino. Owner Carl Icahn had an agreement with Trump to either improve the property by March or remove Trump’s name. Icahn closed the casino in October.

President Donald Trump’s name is being removed from Atlantic City’s closed Taj Mahal casino.

Under an agreement with owner carl Icahn—Trump no longer has a significant interest in the casino—the president’s name was to be removed from the casino unless the property was brought to the “required Taj Standard” by March 2017.

Since the property closed in October and Icahn has said he will not be investing in the property, the signs apparently have to go.

According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, about 17 signs at the property are being removed including the familiar neon Trump marquee at the casino’s entrance.

The removal means that Trump’s name is now completely gone from Atlantic City’s casinos. Trump once owned three Atlantic City casinos.
