Wind Creek Hospitality, the entertainment arm of the Poarch Band of Creek Indians in Alabama, announced the promotions of tribal members Arthur Mothershed and Tim Ramer in the gaming operations office. Both bring years of management and leadership experience with Poarch Creek Indian-owned businesses to their new positions.
Most recently property manager for Wind Creek Atmore, Mothershed has been promoted to vice president of business development, responsible for identifying potential gaming-related business opportunities including consulting, management, development and/or investment opportunities across the U.S. and internationally. He joined the organization in 2003 as chief financial officer. Recently he was reappointed as Tribal Council treasurer. Mothershed also serves on the Tribal Employment Rights Commission and the Tribal Budget and Finance Committee. He holds a bachelor of arts degree from Faulkner University and an MBA from the University of Alabama.
“I want to work to create opportunities for advancement for team members. Expanding the scope and number of business interests will allow us to do that,” Mothershed said.
Formerly assistant property manager at Wind Creek Atmore, Tim Ramer has been promoted to property manager. He started his career with the tribe as a gaming manager at Creek Casino eight years ago. Ramer’s new responsibilities include overseeing gaming and non-gaming activities at the South Alabama property. “I look forward to mentoring future leaders from the tribal membership. If no one is ready to step in to take my place one day, I have failed,” Ramer said. He holds a degree in business administration from Faulkner University. A former member of the Poarch Creek Indian Tribal Council, Ramer serves as the Poarch Creek Wellness and Activities Authority chairperson.
Wind Creek Hospitality Chief Executive Officer/President Jay Dorris said, “Both Tim and Arthur are tribal members with a true commitment to doing what is best for the tribe, the Wind Creek team and for the community at large. We are pleased that we can cultivate and promote talented, experienced leadership as our operations continue to expand.”
