Summit Ascent Holdings Ltd., developer of the sole operating casino in Russia’s Primorye casino zone near Vladivostok, has recruited U Chio Ieong as a non-executive director. U is a businessman with links to Macau and the Mainland Chinese province of Fujian.
GGRAsia reported that U, a 2017 candidate for Macau’s Legislative Assembly in 2017, has held management positions in a number of companies in Mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau primarily in “real estate, graphene mining, food and beverage, hotels, finance, travel, rosewood furniture and crafts.” He is a member of the Fuzhou Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference in Fujian Province.
He will serve for three years through September 6, 2021.
In related news, Summit Ascent says it is “actively negotiating” with Macau-based contacts to “resume the growth trajectory” of its rolling chip business.
