The U.K. Gambling Commission has suspended the operating license of Goldchip Limited. The suspension follows reports that activities were conducted in opposition to the Gambling Act 2005 and that the firm may be unsuitable for licensed activities, according to SBC News
In a statement, the commission wrote: “We have made it clear to the operator that during the course of the suspension, we expect it to focus on treating consumers fairly and keeping them fully informed of any developments which impact them.”
Consumers may still access accounts and withdraw funds.
The commission also acted upon two online gambling businesses due to social responsibility and AML shortcomings, with a combined penalty of £657,000 (US$843,000). Progress Play was charged £175,718 and Jumpman Gaming had to pay £500,000.
