U.K. Commissioners Evaluate Lottery Applicants

Without naming names, the U.K. Gambling Commission has received four final applications for the fourth National Lottery license. Each applicant will present its case to the regulator, which will make the final pick early in 2022, according to iGaming Business.

“We are delighted by the final number of applications we have received, which is unprecedented since the start of the National Lottery,” said John Tanner, executive director of the Fourth National Lottery License Competition. “We look forward to appointing a licensee that will build on the National Lottery’s legacy and maximize the opportunities for innovation and creativity.”

While the commission did not reveal the identity of the applicants, Italian lottery operator Sisal, pan-European lottery and gaming giant Sazka and India’s largest lottery operator Sugal & Damani, have all applied. Camelot may be the fourth applicant.
