U.K. Gambling Commission Suspends BGO Entertainment

The U.K. Gambling Commission suspended the license of BGO Entertainment effective immediately. The authority considers the operator unsuitable, according to SBC News.

“The review and consequent suspension follow concerns that activities may have been carried out contrary to the 2005 Gambling Act, not in accordance with conditions of their license…Failing to protect consumers was a key consideration in the suspension decision,” the commission said in a statement.

Last fall, according to the commission, BGO had systemic failures related to money laundering between September 2018 and March 2020. BGO paid a £2 million (US$2.7 million) settlement and had to do enhanced due diligence checks on its top 250 customers in accordance with Money Laundering Regulations of 2017.

Issuing a statement on the websites of BGO.com, powerspins.com, vegasluck.com and chilli.com, BGO told customers that they “are working with the Gambling Commission to resolve this situation quickly, but in the meantime, you are able to withdraw any funds currently in your account. Deposits will not be permitted.”
