Betfred operates sportsbooks in ten states across the U.S., including Colorado, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and Ohio. They don’t pull results like FanDuel, DraftKings and BetMGM.

But they’re on the board. And they just hired Kresimir Spajic as the CEO of the Betfred USA division. According to the U.K.-based company, if anyone can yank Betfred to higher heights, it’s Spajic. He’ll oversee the vision, strategy and operations element.

“With decades of experience in both the domestic and international online gaming industry, Kresimir Spajic brings a wealth of expertise to Betfred,” the company said in a statement.

Among his past executive roles, he served with Great Canadian Entertainment, Apollo Global Management, Hard Rock International, Rush Street Interactive, and Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa.

He also holds degrees from SDA Bocconi School of Management (Italy), the University of Neuchâtel (Switzerland), and De Montfort University (England).

“I’m truly excited to embark on this journey as the CEO of Betfred USA,” Spajic told Yogonet Gaming News. “I am looking forward to working with our exceptional domestic and global talent and partners. Together, we aim to build a sustainable business in the U.S. by delivering unparalleled value and support to our customers while upholding a strong commitment to responsible gaming.”

Betfred founder Fred Done said: “It’s an important and exciting time for our U.S. business and Kresimir is the ideal person to further push and expand the Betfred brand in America.”

The team in the U.S. has worked hard to expand operations, Betfred Group Chief Executive Joanne Whittaker said. “With Kresimir’s vast experience, we have the right person to take our business to the next level.”
