Richard Glynn, who has been chief executive officer of Ladbrokes, the UK bookmaking firm, for four years, has announced he will retire.
Glynn was appointed in April of 2010 with the hope that he would turn the company’s fortunes around. He was hired for a five-year term.
Ladbrokes Chairman Peter Erskine credited Glynn with doing that job and making the company stronger.
Glynn commented, “It has been a privilege to lead Ladbrokes over this crucial phase. I am very proud of the resilience and professionalism the team has shown during this intense period of activity. It is the right time for Ladbrokes to identify my successor.”
Glynn will remain into the next year, completing his five-year term, while his successor is identified and to aid in an orderly transition. The board of directors will look both within and outside of the company for a successor.
