UK Gambling Commission Head Leaving

United Kingdom Gambling Commission Chief Executive Officer Jenny Williams will leave the post next year. She's held the position for 10 years, and her term will expire in September 2015. A search for Williams' replacement has begun, and she will play a central role in finding a successor.

After 10 years on the job, United Kingdom Gambling Commission Chief Executive Officer Jenny Williams will step down next year. Prior to leaving Williams will oversee the initial implementation of the Point of Consumption Tax. Recruitment for her replacement has begun.

A spokesperson for the Gambling Commission said, “Jenny Williams will come to the end of her term as commissioner at the Gambling Commission in September 2015. We don’t know the exact date of her last day as yet. The recruitment process is underway with a view to having the new chief executive on board in early 2015 which will allow for a hand-over period to ensure a smooth transition.”

Williams has helped strengthen the commission’s senior management team ahead of the implementation of the Gambling (Licensing and Advertising) Bill on October 1. Commission Chairman Philip Graf said Williams would be a “hard act to follow” and that she will play a central role in finding a successor.
