Nick Rust (l.), CEO of the British Horseracing Authority, is calling for the UK government to reopen betting shops when current Covid-19 restrictions end even though some shops may be in Tier 3 areas under the country’s closure system. Rust said there is no evidence that betting shops have contributed to the spread of the virus. The move seems to have worked as UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced a winter plan for Covid-19 that could see betting shops gain permission to stay open through the country’s tier system.
