UK Sees 29 Percent of Gambling Revenue From Online Betting

Figures released by the UK Gambling Commission show that online betting generates about 29 percent of gambling revenue in the country. The Commission said that online gambling generated £4.5 billion over a 12-month period—April 2015 to March 2016.

Online gambling accounts for about 29 percent of the UK’s gambling revenue according to figures released by the UK Gambling Commission.

Online gambling generated £4.5 billion over the 12 months from April 2015 to March 2016. Total revenue was about £13.6 billion or $17 billion including 148 brick-and-mortar casinos and nearly 9,000 betting shops in the country.

Online casinos represented 29 percent of the overall market between April 2014 and March 2015, the government said.

Table Games: £2.6 billion

Sports Betting: £1.6 billion

Slots: £1.8 billion

Bingo: £153 million

Betting Exchanges: £152 million
