UKGC Names New Industry Forum Board

The U.K. Gambling Commission (UKGC) has named the new members of the “Industry Forum,”who are supposed to present the industry’s perspective to the commission, SBC News reported March 11.

The Industry Forum’s chairman, Nick Rust, was previously announced.

UKGC Chairman Marcus Boyle announced the creation of the forum last September. The goal is to get the industry’s side about new regulatory and compliance regulations.

It joins three other “special advisory” groups, including the Lived Experience Panel, the Advisory Board for Safer Gambling, and the Digital Advisory Panel. It will hold its first meeting March 21.

Chairman Rust is former CEO of the British Horseracing Authority (BHA). The forum’s other members are: Tony Boulton – director of public affairs, Merkur UK; Kirsty Caldwell, founder of BetSmart Consultancy; Charles Cohen, chief executive officer and founder of DoTrust Compliance;Ashley Padgett, director of compliance, Flutter UK and Ireland; Mark Pearson, media director, Betfred; Nigel Roddis, managing director of Britbet; Leo Walker, customer operations director, Entain PLC;Helen Walton, founder and chief commercial officer of G. Games; David Williams, director of public affairs at Rank Group PLC.

Rust said the Forum received more than 40 applications, and it was difficult to make selections. He said, “I’m delighted with the quality and experience of the appointees, and hope as a group we can offer perspectives from across all parts of the industry which the Commission can draw upon to help evolve and improve its performance as the regulator.”
