UKGC Seeking Williams Replacement

A search has begun to find a replacement for Jenny Williams, chief executive of the United Kingdom Gambling Commission. Williams' second five-year term will end next year but she will continue to oversee the debut of the U.K.'s new online gambling framework.

The United Kingdom Gambling Commission recently began a search to replace Chief Executive Jenny Williams, whose second five-year term will end next year. Commission Chairman Philip Graf is contacting industry operators and trade organizations as part of the search process, and Williams also will play a major role in selecting her successor.

Williams will continue to oversee the debut of the U.K.’s new online gambling framework and implementation of the Point of Consumption Tax.

Graf said the commission has made great progress under Williams’ leadership and described her as a “hard act to follow.”
