London-based Betgenius announced that it has signed a landmark agreement with Seattle-based Unikrn, the world’s leading eSports bookmaker, to launch an immersive live eSports betting platform.
Betgenius will provide Unikrn with its in-play betting product, featuring fully automated prices for thousands of live events, including all major League of Legends, DotA 2, CS:GO, Call of Duty and Overwatch tournaments.
The partnership leverages Betgenius’ unique data services and technology to drive the global expansion of Unikrn’s betting community in a host of regulated territories and harness the combined power of both platforms’ partnerships.
The technology collaboration will enable the two companies to create best-in-class experiences across eSports data analytics, content and pre-match and live betting markets.
“Unikrn and Betgenius have been strong advocates for competitive integrity in eSports, and amid the recent controversies surrounding unregulated betting operators and illegal skin gambling sites, the need for safe and legal eSports betting providers is more pressing than ever before,” said Betgenius in a press release. “In bringing together the most regulated eSports book in the world in Unikrn, alongside unique technology from Betgenius, the new live betting product will set the standard for regulated eSports bookmakers globally.”

By partnering with Betgenius, operators can partially or fully outsource their trading function across a huge array of markets, specific to individual in-game objectives.
Meanwhile, cryptocurrency use continues to grow on betting platforms and one eSports bookmaker is entering the fray with their own version.
Unikrn has announced it will launch its own virtual currency titled UnikoinGold. The announcement came online from the company’s CEO Sood.
UnikoinGold will be on the Ethereum blockchain as a “decentralized ECR20 token” and according to the site “will be an entry to the existing Unikrn betting system, and it will also become the exclusive token used on a new skill- based betting platform.”
Since the currency will be on the Ethereum blockchain, players will be able to buy, sell and trade them on the exchanges for Ethereum.
“This gives you an opportunity to own UnikoinGold tokens, and use them on our platform and buy/sell/trade them on any of the major exchanges for Ethereum and ultimately fiat currency,’ Sood said.
