Giuseppe Cipriani, developer of the proposed Cipriani Ocean Resort, Club Residences & Casino in Punta del Este, Uruguay has asked the municipal government of Maldonado for more time to begin work on the project.
The mayor’s office has expressed concerns about the company not yet beginning construction work. Cipriani asked for “patience” and said the Covid pandemic had affected “mobilization of the capital.”
The city council has also asked for assurances that the project will be built and threatened not to vote for modifications the company presented recently without and guarantees.
