Vaccaro Leaving Las Vegas

Renowned Las Vegas oddsmaker Jimmy Vacarro is leaving the city’s South Point Hotel and Casino to join Rush Street Gaming.

As director of Sports Marketing at the South Point Vaccaro was responsible for setting betting lines at one of the last independent bookmaking operations in Nevada, and his 30-plus years of experience in the business is expected to prove instrumental to the success of the sports books Rush Street plans to open next month in Pennsylvania𑁋at the company’s SugarHouse Casino in Philadelphia and its Rivers Casino Pittsburgh𑁋and, if New York legalizes sports betting, at its Rivers Casino & Resort in Schenectady.

Rush Street has already signed up Kambi as its technology partner for the Pennsylvania and prospective New York launches. The Stockholm-listed successor to Unibet, Kambi is one of the leading gambling software and platform providers in the regulated European market.

Rush Street also is looking at a third promising market, Illinois, where the company has a deal pending with Churchill Downs to sell an ownership stake in its affiliate Midwest Gaming, operator of Rivers Casino Des Plaines, for at least $326 million.

Illinois is considering legalizing sports betting, and Rivers, which enjoys a prime location just outside Chicago, is the state’s casino revenue leader.
