Legendary oddsmaker Jimmy Vaccaro will leave his position running sports betting operations at Pittsburgh’s Rivers Casino to return to his marketing and promotional role at the sportsbook in the South Point in Las Vegas, according to an exclusive report on the Penn Bets news site.

The news site quoted “a top-level South Point Hotel Casino Spa executive” in reporting that the 73-year-old bookmaking legend will return to Las Vegas at the end of July, prompted by the ongoing illness of current South Point sportsbook director Chris Andrews.

According to Penn Bets, Vaccaro confirmed by telephone that his is returning to Las Vegas, but declined further comment.

The South Point is the home of the Vegas Stats and Information Network (VSiN), which broadcasts a regular show featuring Brent Musburger from a glass-walled studio on the casino floor. Vaccaro was a regular guest on Musburger’s My Guys in the Desert program.
