Valley Forge Leads Pennsylvania Sportsbook Revenues

Valley Forge Casino, one of Pennsylvania’s small resort-class casinos, topped all state casinos in sports betting handle in September, registering $88 million in wagers for the first month of football season—a rise of $50 million over August.

Because of Pennsylvania’s sports betting rules, the fact that Valley Forge is one of the state’s smallest gaming venues does not matter when it comes to sportsbooks. The casino hosts a FanDuel retail and online sportsbook, and around 81 percent of sports wagers in the state are made online.

According to statistics from the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board, SugarHouse (now Rivers Philadelphia) came in second in Pennsylvania behind FanDuel/Valley Forge, with a total handle of $37 million for September. There was a total of $194.5 million in sports bets in Pennsylvania for the month.

The result mirrors New Jersey, where FanDuel sports books dominate at Resorts Atlantic City and the Meadowlands racetrack.
