Valley Forge to Pay $200K in Fines

Valley Forge Casino in suburban Philadelphia will pay $200,000 in fines for violations of state gaming law including admitting underage gamblers. The casino near the historic Civil War battlefield has hired new managers to ensure the violations are not repeated.

Promotions were not approved by regulators

Valley Forge Casino in suburban Philadelphia has made significant management changes in response to fines it incurred for violations of state gaming law. According to a report from CBS News, the casino failed to clear 173 promotional offers with the Pennsylvania Gaming Board, as required by law.

At a recent meeting in the state capital of Harrisburg, Valley Forge representatives agreed to pay fines of $200,000. They said they had hired new managers to oversee key operations, including security and regulatory compliance.

Attorney Adrian King said the promotional offers were not submitted to the board because the person responsible was on maternity leave. “Somebody just dropped the ball and didn’t do it,” he said. One person resigned in the wake of the sanctions and others were disciplined.

Casino officials also said four underage gamblers, who were guests of resort members have now been banned from entering.
