Vegas Casinos Hit by Suspected Ransomware Attack

Slot machines and websites at two Las Vegas casinos were shut down for nearly a week by a possible ransomware attack. The targeted properties were the Four Queens Hotel and Casino and Binion’s Casino in Downtown Vegas.

The Nevada State Game Control Board said it is “actively monitoring the situation,” reports Computer Business Review. Both casinos are owned by the company TLC Casino Enterprises, Inc.

Signs hung at the Four Queens stated, “Computer systems are down. Cash only.” Slot machines bore messages like, “out of order” and “out of service,” according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
