The National Football League Las Vegas Raiders have chosen M Resort Spa Casino to be the team’s official residence on days before home games at the new $2 billion Allegiant Stadium.
The Raiders said the decision was a natural one given M’s proximity to the stadium, a little farther north and west of the Strip behind Mandalay Bay, and the team’s practice facilities and offices in the suburb of Henderson.
“You want the best of everything for your coaches, staff and players so they can perform at their best on the field,” Raiders President Marc Badain said. “To have a facility like the M Resort in your backyard is a real game-changer. It’s a first-class resort and it will be a recruiting tool for us and a place for us to bond the night before games.”
The 400-room M plans to open a Raiders-themed restaurant and merchandise store as part of a multi-year sponsorship agreement designating it the team’s official pre-game hotel.
“We are excited and honored to build a long-term partnership with the iconic Raiders organization,” said M General Manager Hussain Mahrous. “We’re going to be able to offer exclusive Raiders experiences, both on property and at the Raiders headquarters.”
Mahrous said additional details about the partnership will be made public before the team’s first home game. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The Raiders are moving from Oakland, California, to the 65,000-seat domed stadium for the start of the 2020 season.
The practice of NFL home teams staying at a hotel the night before games is common throughout the league, Badain said, while visiting teams typically choose their own hotels.
