Will Sheldon cut the cake?

On Monday, November 20, Sands China will mark the 10th anniversary of the Venetian Macao.

The celebration, initially scheduled for August 28, was postponed when Typhoon Hato roared into town, bringing 125-mile-an-hour winds that knocked out power, caused property damage and killed TK people. As a Sands spokesperson recently told the Macau Daily Times, “In the wake of the natural disaster, our company came together to lend its support and its resources to the people of Macau.”

Now it’s time to party. The Cotai-based Venetian opened August 28, 2007. According to the Times, the 980,000-square-meter (10.5 million-square-foot) resort is one of the biggest buildings in the world by floor area and closely parallels its sister property, the Venetian in Las Vegas.

It’s not yet known if Las Vegas Sands Chairman and CEO Sheldon Adelson will attend the anniversary celebration.
