Venezuelan President: Casinos Can Reopen

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has ordered that 30 casinos closed by his predecessor Hugo Chavez may reopen.

The revival of gaming in the economically challenged Central American country is seen as a nod toward measures to try to revive the economy, which has tanked at the same time as the fall of petroleum prices—upon which the country is largely dependent.

The 30 casinos employed more than 100,000 workers.
