Vibrantly Reworked The Beatles Love Debuts

The son of longtime Beatles record producer Sir George Martin helped to design a reworked The Beatles Love show at the Mirage in Las Vegas, which debuted February 25 with a vibrant new experience for fans. The Beatles Love has been one of the most popular attractions on the Las Vegas Strip and consistently rates as the most popular Cirque show in Sin City.

A reworked Cirque du Soleil The Beatles Love show at the Mirage in Las Vegas debuted as the show celebrates a new decade.

The reworked show opened February 25, after being dark for several weeks to under its transformation, and Giles Martin says the new show is fresh, vibrant, and gives audiences a new experience.

Martin is the son of longtime Beatles producer Sir George Martin and the caretaker of The Beatles’ musical catalog.

Although popular, Martin said the show had gotten old over the past decade, and producers asked him to help rework it to make the show fresh and “vibrant.”

The original show debuted in June 2006, with Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Yoko Ono, and Olivia Harrison among the many stars who attended its opening night.

The original show featured many of The Beatles’ top hits performed by a symphony orchestra and house band and accompanying dancers, acrobats, and other stage performers.

The Beatles Love has averaged between 75 percent and 90 percent capacity throughout its run at the Mirage, and it consistently ranks as the top Cirque du Soleil show on the Las Vegas Strip, according to exit polling.

But with the show’s 10th anniversary approaching this summer and having remained the same since its opening night, producers decided to make changes.

The new show has new choreography, remixed master audio, better lighting, better technology, and more Beatles via projection technology, among many improvements, Martin said.

It also has a new song lineup, which includes popular favorites from the old show, along with some new ones.
