Global Gaming Ventures’ Victoria Gate, the third-largest casino in the United Kingdom and the first and only “super casino” in the north of England and Scotland, is under construction in Leeds. The multi-million, 50,000 square foot development will be built on three levels above the new upscale John Lewis department store, with a capacity of 1,400 people. The venue will provide 200 full-time jobs, with a minimum of 90 percent filled by Leeds City Region residents.
Victoria Gate will feature a poker room, 24 gaming tables, 140 slot machines and 80 electronic gaming terminals. It also will offer wall-to-wall screens broadcasting sports, a restaurant, two bars and meeting space. The casino is located within the newly opened, $200 million Victoria Gate retail and entertainment development.
Venue Director Patrick Noakes commented, “The walk-through video shows that this is a casino unlike any other in the north of England. It will be one of the biggest venues in the city. This is a unique opportunity to build a best-of-class venue that covers not just gaming, but dining and entertainment, big game sports action as well as corporate hospitality.
