Viejas Finishes Seven-Year Expansion

Viejas Casino and Resort in San Diego County, owned by the Viejas Band of Kumeyaay Indians has completed a seven year renovation and expansion that included three new hotel towers, a high limit gaming area, large center bar and the opening of a sister property the Willows Hotel and Spa, for adults only.

The 360-degree center bar, which is part of the third and final tower to open, has numerous TV screens and 50 slots.

The high limit area of 15,415 square feet includes more than 80 new machines, and is, according to Viejas, “the most expansive and exclusive in the market.”

Viejas Tribal Chairman Robert Welch Jr. declared, “We’re thrilled to see the entire property come together and are proud of all the incredible improvements. It took seven years to bring our vision to reality and create a truly remarkable casino and resort, where our guests can enjoy all the new offerings and amenities.”

He added, “The expansion also connects us to a broader audience because we now have something luxurious and exciting for everyone to enjoy, be it adults who love gaming, to young couples who enjoy spending time at a high-end pool, or families looking for an all-day or weekend destination.”
