Vietnam Changes Slot Payouts

The government of Vietnam has established a higher payout policy for slot machines in the country’s casinos. An amended decree mandates that all machines offer a payout rate of no less than 90 percent.

Vietnam has instituted new payout rules for its casino slot machines. According to the Asia Gaming Brief, an amended decree requires that the machines offer a payout rate of no less than 90 percent. The new payout rate must be added to software in new slot machines.

Until recently, Vietnamese citizens were barred from gambling in the country unless they hold foreign passports, but Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc recently announced that a two-year trial of locals gaming at casino resorts in the Van Don Special Economic Zone at Ha Long Bay North Vietnam and Phu Quoc Island in South Vietnam.
