Vietnam’s Hoiana on Track to Open This Year

Vietnam’s largest integrated casino resort is on target to open in late 2019, according to Asia Gaming Brief. Phase I of Hoiana will have a casino with 100-plus gaming tables and 300 gaming machines, as well as three hotel towers with a total of 1,000 rooms.

In a presentation at the ASEAN Gaming Summit, Mary Mendoza, Hoiana’s assistant vice president of casino marketing, said the IR will also feature retail space, a golf course and food and beverage outlets.

The three-phase resort is a project of Macau junket investor Suncity Group, local investment group Vinacapital and VMS. The property will be “slightly bigger” than Singapore’s Resorts World Sentosa, Mendoza said.

Hoiana is under development in central Vietnam, viewed as a prime area for casino investment with its proximity to Danang International Airport.

VietnamGaming.vn reports that the Crown International Club in Danang generates more than $550 million per year. Under Vietnam’s recently revised gaming legislation, developers must invest a minimum of $2 billion in their resorts.
