Caesars Virginia will open a 40,000-square-foot temporary facility in Danville on May 15, becoming the state’s third casino. The permanent $400 million facility (l.), opening in late 2024, is being built on adjacent property.

Virginia’s Third Casino Opens May 15

The temporary Caesars Virginia in Danville will open at 10:00 a.m., Monday, May 15.

The 40,000-square-foot Danville casino will be open 24/7 and will offer 740 slots, 25 table games, 28 electronic table games, eight Caesars Sportsbook kiosks, Caesars Rewards Center and the Three Stacks restaurant.

The permanent $400 million casino, hotel and restaurants are under construction on adjacent property and will open in late 2024. A Caesars Entertainment spokesman said the permanent facility will create 1,300 jobs and generate million in tax revenue for the city and state.

Chris Albrecht, senior vice president and general manager at Danville Casino and Caesars Virginia said, “We’ve received an incredible outpouring of support and cooperation to get us to this day, especially from the Danville community and the surrounding areas. The opening of the Danville Casino is a monumental step forward for us, and we are excited to begin welcoming guests on May 15.”

Caesars Danville will be the third casino to open in Virginia, following Hard Rock Hotel & casino Bristol and Rivers Casino Portsmouth. Headwaters Resort & Casino Norfolk will be next to open a temporary facility.
