Washington Casino Begins Massive Expansion

The Angel of the Winds Casino near Arlington, Washington has begun a large-scale expansion, although in a sense the casino has never stopped expanding since the Stillaguamish Tribe opened it in 2004.

As casino General Manager Travis O’Neil put it, “Either you’re growing or you’re dying.”

First the casino added a hotel. Then it added the only tribal-owned brewery in Washington. The current $60 million expansion will add 300,000 square feet, including a modern bowling alley.

O’Neill told Fox 13 “It’s not just about playing on the slot machines, or sitting at a table game. What else can you do? What other type of fun is there? We want people to have a great time here.” He said they are mirroring trends in Las Vegas.
