Washington’s Emerald Queen Casino (l.) has opened its BetMGM Sportsbook. The casino and sportsbook is owned by the Puyallup tribe which intends to make it a “premier destination for sports betting.”

On December 21, the BetMGM Sportsbook celebrated its grand opening at the Emerald Queen Casino near Tacoma, Washington.

The fete included guest appearances by pro athletes Edgar Martinez, Lawyer Milloy, Sidney Rice and Marshawn “Beast Mode” Lynch. Bettors can wager on pro and college games (except those involving Washington State college.)

The casino is owned and operated by the Puyallup tribe, whose tribal council announced, “EQC has really gone above and beyond in making EQC Sportsbook the premier destination for sports betting in the Northwest.” It added, “We’ve got the biggest video screen in the country, great seating, and an opening day that brought sports legends plus a live broadcast and a live game. We are striving to offer the best sports betting experience around…”

It is located in the space that was formerly a sports bar but was expanded to accommodate 70 leather armchairs aimed toward a 500 square foot LED wall, which casino General Manager Frank Wright Jr. calls “the only one in the country” adding “It’s just one component of the immersive experience that sets BetMGM Sportsbook at EQC apart from every other sportsbook in the Pacific Northwest.”
