The Spokane Tribe of Chewelah, Washington is building a hotel next to its Chewelah Casino that it expects to complete by December 2022. The tribe held a groundbreaking on October 5.
Casino Marketing Manager Jamie Sijohn told KREM 2-TV, “With the revenues that the tribe makes through the Chewelah Casino and eventually the hotel some of the money go back to our tribal programs, the found education programs, senior programs or elderly programs, and so on.”
He said the economy of Stevens County will also benefit from the 70-room hotel, which will also have an indoor swimming pool and conference center.
