A new two-story, 40,000 square foot smoke-free wing recently was completed at the Nisqually Indian Tribe’s Red Wind Casino in Olympia, Washington. The new wing offers 27,000 square feet of additional gaming space with 600 new slot machines and table games, and also houses a new deli, bar, gift shop, ice cream and espresso bar and additional administrative space.
The distinctive design of the building features a unique curved exterior with a cultured stone façade, dramatic interior columns, 22-foot high ceilings, custom native artwork and ambient lighting.
Mike Campeau, project manager for Tacoma-based Korsmo Construction, said, “The most rewarding thing for me is that we have a happy client, and that we met our main objectives: finishing the project on budget and on schedule, while minimizing our impact on the casino’s ongoing operations.”
In the near future work will begin at Red Wind on casino floor renovations, plus remodeling the buffet and steakhouse, kitchen and meeting rooms. Also a new seafood restaurant will be built. will consist of renovations to the existing casino floor, remodel of the casino’s buffet and steakhouse, remodel of the kitchen and existing meeting rooms. A new seafood restaurant will also be constructed. The anticipated completion date for these projects is July 2015.
Korsmo Construction also is working on the expansion at the Suquamish Clearwater Casino Resort in Suquamish, Washington.
