Northern Quest Resort & Casino, owned by the Kalispel Tribe based near Spokane, Washington, has announced it will proceed with previously announced expansion plans, but the convention center that had been a part of that will not move forward at this time.
The tribe will add a 160,000 square foot hotel tower with 190 additional rooms, to bring the total to 440. The expansion has been designed by the HBG Group.
Nick Pierre, general manager of the Northern Quest said, “For the past several years, we’ve been running at consistently high occupancy in our hotel, and while meetings and events business has taken a big hit in the past eight months, we are confident things will bounce back in the coming months and years, returning us to the kind of demand we were seeing in 2019 and early 2020.”
The casino, which opened in 2000 has about 1,600 slot machines, 37 gaming tables and a poker room.
The plans call for a 30,000 SF convention space but that will be held back until demand for meeting space calls for it.
The tribe says construction will probably begin March of next year and will open in 2023.
