Now that the Jamestown S’Kallam Tribe has reached a tentative tribal state gaming compact with Washington, it is progressing with plans to expand its 7 Cedars Casino into a resort with three hotel towers, with the first to be completed in 2020—and the last to be completed within a decade.
Last week Tribal CEO Ron Allen released plans for what he called a “destination resort” that will, he said, be “unlike anything the Peninsula has seen.”
According to the Peninsula Daily News, the resort will also include a spa, RV park, event center and parking garage—although details were not released.
Meantime the tribe will focus its efforts on the first tower, a five-story building that will have 100 hotel rooms. The building will be sited west of the casino. Construction will begin in 2018 and be completed by the summer of 2020, prior to Memorial Day.
Allen said plans for the $22 million first phase should be released by the end of this year. The tribe also proposes to consolidate the casino while increasing the number of slots from 600 to 750.
