Washington’s Snoqualmie Tribe has announced plans to expand its existing casino and add a new hotel, spa, and 2,000 seat entertainment center. New dining will also eventually be added. Completion is expected in 2024.
Snoqualmie Tribe Chairman Robert de los Angeles said in a statement, “Through the hard work and resilience of our Elders, the Snoqualmie Tribe regained its recognition in 1999. With our sovereignty recognized, we have continued to strengthen and preserve our cultural traditions, protecting our sacred places, healing our ancestral lands, and establishing enterprises that allow our Tribe to provide our families with education, health care, and housing while also giving back to the community. This next period of growth at the Snoqualmie Casino allows us to continue advancing those goals.”
The tribe added a sportsbook to its casino last year. The expansion will use design elements that will harken back to the longhouses of tribal ancestors.
The tribe plans to hire local Puget Sound contractors and create 500 temporary construction jobs.
